Dad, you were the biggest kid of all of us! But the best dad any child could ask for. You gave us a solid, loving childhood filled with love, laughter, swimming and dog walks. We knew we were part of a special team - it was always about the teamwork. You believed in us all, never had a favourite and filled all 3 of us with confidence. It was a very happy childhood and I thank you and mum for that.
When you and mum split up it was a shock to us 3 but not to you and mum. I'm not sure hiding your unhappiness for so long was a smart move by either of you but it was your marriage and you both did your best at the time. I'm glad you found happiness with Julie and had 30 years of love and happiness with her. She provided you with a step-family and you grew to love them all too.
You remained a large and much loved presence in all our lives - you leave a big hole in our lives and our hearts. You were so loved but you knew that right up until the day you died. I cherish all that time we had together in the last weeks of your life, especially when you managed to reunite your 3 children around your bedside on your final day. You waited until we were all there and then you left us. I love you so very much, I will always be your Moonshine. Caroline x
